ENROLLMENT FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE NOT CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA OR DO NOT SPEAK OR SPEAK CROATIAN LANGUAGE ONLY MODERATELY
INSTRUCTIONS
Students who are foreign citizens and who do not speak or speak Croatian language only moderately should apply for the 1st admission cycle.
- Students should register using the registration form that can be found in the upper right corner of the “e-Upisi” i.e electronic registration platform (https://srednje.e-upisi.hr) for secondary school enrollment (“Registracija” = registration), during the period when registration is enabled for all enrollment cycles.
- Submission of documentation – Certificate of Primary Education (the final 4 grades) that students have completed abroad and proof of citizenship should be delivered by registered mail:
- Copies of certificates of Primary Education completed abroad that are in a foreign language should be translated and certified by an authorized court interpreter, copies of documentation in the Croatian language should be notarized by a public notary. The birth certificate with OIB – personal identification number (for citizens of the Republic of Croatia) does not need to be certified, the copy of the passport (for foreign citizens) needs to be certified by a public notary.
- Documentation should be submitted to the Central Registration Office, which then enters students’ grades into the e-Enrollment (E-upisi) platform for secondary schools.

- If a student has completed one of the last four grades of Primary Education in the regular education system in the Republic of Croatia (from 2009 onwards), in that case it is not required to submit the certificates of those grades, as the relevant data will automatically be transferred from e-Matica (e-Data base).
- Furthermore, students need to undergo the process of recognition of a foreign educational qualification to be able to continue their education at the high school level through the enrollment process because students have completed or will complete their education abroad. In this case, additional information will be received accordingly.
