Pučišća, December 22,  2022.

Dear All ,

we are pleased to inform you that the XXIV Symposium of stonemasons on: extraction, processing, installation and stone restoration titled „NOVI ŽIVOT KAMENA“ (A new life of stone), is planned on

May 18 to 20, 2023.

This symposium, which all of you have created and been a part of for years, has always been an important event for the entire stone sector, both in the Republic of Croatia and the region. We hope to continue with the same practice in the future.

The concept of this Symposium would differ to some extant from that of 2019, and would partially be carried out as a collaborative event.

Namely, after a two-year pandemic pause, besides the lectures that will bring us closer to current events in the stone industry and related branches in economy and education, it would also be necessary to direct communication towards/from participants to organizers and lecturers.

The goal here is to connect and cooperate better within the sector and to present better the sector to the outside.

Based on the received inputs, in September 2023, a meeting of the Heads of individual sections would be organized in order to articulate the conclusions and to address them in writing to the relevant ministries, institutions and associations.

Here are some of the basic questions of this year’s Symposium:

HOW TO EXPAND THE STONE MARKET?

WHICH PHASES OF THE STONE INDUSTRY SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED? . . . STONE EXTRACTION?.. . . STONE PROCESSING?. . . DESIGN AND PLANNING?. . .  ? LEGAL REGULATIONS? . . .

EDUCATION OF PROFESSIONALS? . . . ???

Individual working groups, directed by a moderator and group administrators, will cover the entire spectrum of the above mentioned topics. Smaller groups will contribute to a better overall work dynamics.

Agenda creation is underway, so if you think to have a topic worth discussing and commenting on, you are kindly asked to send an email to our school email address briefly explaning the relevance of the topic.
